Accent Reduction:

Individuals who attend for intervention to reduce an accent, aim to learn new speech habits, replacing original with new speech patterns. The individual will learn to discriminate (hear the difference in) English sounds; produce difficult sounds in single words through to the sentence level; and reproduce rhythms, phrasing and intonational patterns. These new speaking patterns are then transferred into everyday speaking situations/conversations.
