Articulation or Phonological Difficulties:
Articulation or phonological difficulties are breakdowns in speech-sound production that may be apparent in childhood and may become life-long challenges. The individual may demonstrate substitution of one sound for another (eg."wabbit" for "rabbit"); omission of a sound or syllable (eg."poon" for "spoon", "ha" for "hat"; "tevision" for "television"); or distortion of a sound (eg. "ship" for "sip").
Articulation difficulties may also occur later in life, often as a result of a stroke, head injury, other injury or illness.
